How I Help
Financial planning for the life that comes next.
Divorce changes everything financially. I help you understand what you have, make sense of your options, and build a plan for what comes next.
More than investing a settlement.
Financial planning after divorce involves far more than deciding how to invest a lump sum. It means understanding what you actually have, establishing a new financial foundation, and making a series of important decisions — often all at once, often under pressure.
My role is to bring clarity to that process. I help you organize the full picture, work through the decisions in front of you, and create a plan that reflects your life and your priorities — not a generic template.
The scope of planning
What financial planning after divorce may include
Understanding your assets and accounts
Identifying what you own, what you owe, and what you're entitled to — including retirement accounts, investment accounts, real estate, and other assets.
Establishing a new cash flow
Understanding your income, your expenses, and what your financial life actually looks like now that it's yours alone to manage.
Evaluating housing decisions
Deciding whether to keep the marital home, downsize, or rent — and understanding the full financial implications of each option.
Planning for retirement
Assessing whether you're on track, understanding how divorce affects your retirement picture, and identifying what adjustments may be needed.
Reviewing investments
Evaluating your current investment accounts, understanding your risk tolerance, and ensuring your portfolio reflects your goals and timeline.
Identifying tax considerations
Flagging potential tax issues related to your settlement, asset transfers, or new financial situation — and coordinating with your CPA when needed.
Reviewing insurance and estate planning
Ensuring your coverage and beneficiary designations reflect your new circumstances, and identifying gaps that need attention.
Creating a prioritized implementation plan
Turning the plan into a clear, manageable list of next steps — so you know exactly what to do, in what order, and why.
Working with your other advisors
Financial planning doesn't happen in isolation. When legal, tax, or other specialized expertise is needed, I coordinate with your attorney, CPA, and other professionals to make sure everyone is working from the same picture. I don't provide legal or tax advice — but I make sure the financial planning reflects the full context of your situation.
I do not provide legal or tax advice. For legal and tax matters, I work alongside your attorney and CPA.
Let's talk about where you are.
Every situation is different. The best way to understand how I can help is to have a conversation.
